Even if purchasing a cell phone with 5G is not our recommendation for now, if you are avid for technological innovations, you may already be looking for the best cell phones with 5G. To help you with this task, we have gathered the 6 best models that are available or that should arrive later this year in Brazil. From the list below, only the first two options are already available in the Brazilian market. The other options have not yet reached our market, but it is possible that they will be launched in the last quarter of the year. So, check out our list of the best 5G phones in 2022 below!
Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max
Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max feature a variety of changes, such as Dynamic Island instead of the old notch, a new 48-megapixel camera system is quite impressive, and the new A16 Bionic processor.
All these updates come together to create an experience that feels fresh and fast compared to older generations. It’s the most expensive iPhone you can buy, especially if you opt for the larger Max version, but if you want the high performance and sheer camera quality of Apple’s flagship phone, the iPhone 14 Pro is for you.
Google Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6
For a lower cost than the other devices on this list, the Google Pixel 6 Pro undercuts rivals and packs in plenty of value. It comes with a main camera setup, new AI features, a sharp display and a distinctive design. If you don’t have that much money to spend, then you should buy the low-end Pixel 6, which still has the main cameras and a big screen. Bear in mind that the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are on the way. If you’re not desperate for an upgrade next week, it might be worth saving your money by opting for the new model, or getting a discount on your 6 Pro purchase.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
The Galaxy S22 Ultra is the best phone Samsung is currently making, with everything you’d expect from an elite smartphone. It has a big, vibrant display and an amazing rear camera setup (including a zoom lens unlike anything we’ve seen before). It’s a lot of power. This phone isn’t cheap, but it’s the perfect 5G phone for anyone looking for the best of the best in an Android device.
Pixel 6A
The Pixel 6A is Google’s newest Android 12 phone, replacing the Pixel 5A as the cheapest alternative device in its lineup. Some sources call it “the best Android phone in its price range” in their Pixel 6A review, noting how it retains the same Tensor chip seen in the more expensive Pixel 6 and many of its features.
The phone is slightly smaller than the Pixel 6, with a 6.1-inch OLED screen and a 60Hz refresh rate. And it has a camera similar to the Pixel 5A, including a 12.2-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera. But by including the Tensor chip, photos can benefit from the Real Tone skin tone feature, Face Unblur, Night Sight for darker photography, and Magic Eraser to remove unwanted elements from a photo.
Is it a good time to buy one of the best cell phones with 5G?
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, we do not recommend worrying about picking up the best 5G phones yet. Unless, of course, you live in the few places where its distribution is starting. While it doesn’t have the camera prowess of the much more expensive iPhone 13 Pro, it runs the latest iOS 15 software and uses the same processor found in higher-end models, making it a great phone for everyday use and light gaming.
Apple iPhone 13 Mini
While Apple’s new iPhone 14 lineup didn’t bring a new iPhone Mini, it did make the existing iPhone 13 Mini offered at a lower starting price. If you’re someone who prefers smaller devices that fit in your pocket (in more ways than one), then this is the perfect 5G phone for you. The 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Mini is easy to use with one hand and fits even in tight jean pockets. While battery life isn’t as long as the iPhone 13, this little Apple iPhone doesn’t sacrifice camera capabilities or processing power.
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G
Samsung’s new Galaxy A53 5G has a lot to offer for the price. It features a spacious 6.5-inch screen, cameras for wide, ultra-wide and macro shots and long battery life. It’s easy to forget that this phone costs so little. That also makes it cheaper than its predecessor, and the Galaxy A53 5G guarantees at least four generations of Android updates. It supports all three types of 5G: sub-6GHz, C-band and millimeter wave.
OnePlus 10 Pro
The OnePlus 10 Pro has earned its place in our review thanks to its sleek design, powerful performance and price that beats its main rivals. It needs some improvements – particularly the camera, which is good but not great – but this flagship offers a great overall experience. If you’re looking for a high-end 5G phone that’s a little different from your friends’ iPhones and 5G Galaxy phones, it’s a solid option to consider.
Sony Xperia 5 III
While the Xperia 5 III isn’t a particularly affordable phone, its compact design, great interface, and great dual rear camera setup make it a good option to consider.
Especially if you’re familiar with Sony’s Alpha line of cameras.
Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2022)
The Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) is one of the best stylus-equipped phones you can currently buy, especially for the price. It has Android 12, 5G connectivity, a large 6.8-inch screen and a generous 256GB of storage. Unfortunately, the phone only promises one software update and three years of security updates, which is much shorter than the four years promised by Samsung for the Galaxy A53. However, if you want a stylus-equipped 5G phone, another option is the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is substantially more expensive. Still, it’s important to mention that only a selection of the most powerful cell phones will arrive with the technology. Because they are very expensive and inaccessible, perhaps the best thing is to take advantage of some of these cost-effective cell phones and invest in smartphones with a 5G connection in a few years.
